Dr. Donte T. Boyd, a 2022-2023 HPTN Domestic Scholar, is an assistant professor at The Ohio State University College of Social Work in Columbus. He is also a visiting professor at the University of California Center for AIDS Prevention Studies in San Francisco. Dr. Boyd’s research addresses how socio-contextual factors impact young Black MSM decision-making behaviors. He is particularly interested in examining how strength-based approaches affect HIV prevention behaviors and mental health outcomes among young Black men who have sex with men. Before joining the faculty, Dr. Boyd received his Ph.D. from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs.
