This year's World AIDS Day theme, "Equalize," is a call to action for everyone to address the inequities in access to the interventions and services required to help end the global AIDS epidemic. The HPTN remains steadfast in its commitment to pursuing new HIV prevention tools and novel approaches to prevent HIV infection. This commitment is based on the deep-seated belief that all individuals at risk, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexuality, class, or disability, have the right to access available HIV prevention tools.
We remain grateful to our network members and partners, research teams, community organizations, funders, other stakeholders, and most of all, our study participants, that continue to be integral to our research efforts. A special thank you to our incomparable leader, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), for 54 years of commitment to science in the service of the health of people around the world. As Dr. Fauci steps down from his position at NIAID, we thank him for supporting the HPTN's mission since its inception.
To the HPTN family, we thank you for your remarkable work, dedication, and passion.
