Sunday, December 1, is World AIDS Day. This year’s theme, “Communities make the difference,” serves as a reminder of the critical role communities play in the global HIV response.
As people around the world commemorate World AIDS Day, we want to take a moment to thank all of you for your tireless efforts and your unparalleled dedication to ending the HIV epidemic as a global health threat.
For more than 20 years, the HPTN has collaborated with investigators, research staff, community members, and many partners around the world to develop and identify ways that HIV transmission can be curbed. It’s an exciting time for HIV prevention research as we continually strive towards epidemic control through the evaluation of new HIV prevention strategies and pursue more effective approaches to optimize the use of tools we know that work.
As we look ahead to 2020 and beyond, we are honored by your continued commitment. The work accomplished by our Network would not be possible without the support of and cooperation from research teams, study participants, funders, community partners, and other key stakeholders.
